Associate Director, Pricing & Contracting Strategy

Job Description:

In this highly visible role, the Associate Director will lead all analytic aspects of the Company’s buy and bill pricing strategy and will create and oversee advanced market access analytics. This role will support all inline products and be charged with applying a strategic portfolio approach to all recommendations.

The Role will lead cross-functional support team efforts (comprised of individuals from analytics, distribution, corporate accounts, sales, marketing, finance and legal) and is responsible for vetting the pricing and contracting strategy across all AMAG products and customer segments. The ability to translate complicated financial analysis into key business insights and recommendations is critical for success in the role.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Defining key issues and information needs related to pricing and contracting strategy development

  • Utilizing existing models and developing new models in order to execute quantitative analysis supporting pricing and contracting decisions

  • Works closely with leaders from each business unit to develop pre-deal analytics and business cases

  • Using his/her excellent Excel skills, s/he with model various scenarios to support decision making

  • Works closely with Finance to ensure that current GP methodologies and Contracting terms are accurately reflected in all pricing and contracting models

  • Plays a critical role in the organization of and execution of Pricing Review Board (PRB) meetings

  • Works closely with the Strategic Account Team to maximize access and net revenue for Feraheme – to include pre-deal analysis, development of business cases, and advising on long term pricing strategy

  • Collaborate with Legal, Contract Operations, and Government Pricing to ensure new contract proposals are compliant and can be operationalized

  • Supports Brand teams in terms of strategic pricing and contracting input to brand planning, budgeting, forecasting, pricing strategy, etc…

  • Develops and presents recommendations to Senior Management

  • Manages all internal and external price notifications

Education And Experience

  • BA/BS degree with preference for finance concentration, Advanced degree preferred

  • Previous work experience in Operations, Consulting, Analytics, Finance, Contract Management, or Market Access

  • Previous experience in payer/provider contracting and pre-deal analysis

  • Knowledge of and experience with ASP and WAC price modeling

  • Knowledge of state price transparency reporting requirements

  • Specialty pharmaceutical experience
