Sr. Manager, US Payer Marketing

The Sr. Manager, US Payer Marketing is accountable for the development and implementation of key payer initiatives across the portfolio that are focused on securing access for Seattle Genetics’ products with both commercial and government payers. This role will be responsible for leading the planning and execution of specific promotional activities and tactics, including facilitating vendor contracts and overseeing the payer marketing project budget, as well as managing supporting efforts including account and field-based market access training. These efforts will require cross-functional coordination with the Market Access, US Marketing, Sales, Managed Markets, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, and external customers. This role will also lead the development and promotional review process for payer marketing tactics and programs and ensure alignment with overall market access and commercial strategy.
The Sr. Manager, US Payer Marketing will report to the Director, Market Access. This position is located at the Seattle Genetics’ Headquarters in Bothell, Washington.
Support U.S. market access strategies which includes identification of key market issues and opportunities, critical success factors and brand strategies, key tactical programs and payer product positioning and messaging
Work collaboratively with Advocacy, Managed Markets, and Sales and Marketing to ensure alignment on strategy and implementation of pull through programs
Support commercialization launch strategy which includes identification of key market issues and opportunities, critical success factors and market access strategies, and key tactical programs
Identify market research needs, align on market research plans and translate findings into access strategies
Partner in the development of the annual access plan, including identification of key issues and opportunities, strategies and critical success factors, tactical initiatives, and budget
Evaluate market access performance against budget to ensure a cost-effective allocation of resources and appropriate management reporting
Select and manage all vendors/agencies successfully and effectively
Ensures that all actions, and those of the team, both internally and through vendors working on our behalf, are in compliance with all laws, regulations, policies and demonstrate Company values
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Marketing, Business, scientific or related field; advanced degree or MBA preferred
5+ years of market access, managed markets, or account management experience in a U.S. pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical organization. Deep experience in both the medical and pharmacy benefit markets for oncology is preferred
Experience in successfully operating in a multi-function commercial organization
Excellent verbal and written communication; presentation skills are required along with strong project and process management capabilities
Strong team-orientation with the ability to influence, lead, negotiate and work effectively at all levels in a matrixed and multi-cultural environment; able to maintain a consistent focus on ensuring strategic alignment for commercial success
Track record of successfully defining market issues and opportunities and developing successful marketing campaigns
Demonstrated capabilities in the areas of strategic thinking, initiative, problem solving and creativity with experience effectively applying those skills to product positioning and messaging
In-depth knowledge and understanding of the drug development, regulatory review and commercialization processes for specialty oncology products
Experience effectively representing the commercial perspective during the Regulatory/Legal review of promotional/external facing materials
High degree of customer focus
Consistently demonstrates enthusiasm, confidence, and the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, as well as prioritize effectively to meet individual, team and company goals
