Sr. Director / Director, Nephrology Marketing

Job Description:


The Sr. Director of Marketing – Nephrology will act as the "Franchise Champion" who provides primary leadership both within the company and with external stakeholders, to be the driving force leading the development, creation and execution of all commercial initiatives related to the nephrology pipeline. This person will have primary responsibility for the development and execution of all commercial product marketing plans, strategies, and tactics. This position reports to the VP of Marketing.


  • Seen as a leader in executing against the broader company corporate objectives

  • Oversight of the nephrology pipeline leading the strategy and tactical execution of launching our nephrology assets

  • Oversight of deployment and measurement of all tactics supporting product adoption (promotional and non-promotional)

  • Leads the development of annual and 3-year U.S. brand plans

  • Provides insight into ROW initiatives based on US understanding

  • Manages the marketing budget, including trade off decisions regarding the marketing mix

  • Performs marketplace and competitive analysis. Works collaboratively with market research to gain insights from multiple customer segments, including academic/community physicians and nurses

  • Oversees vendor partnerships, including the advertising agency of record, to ensure tactical elements are properly executed in a timely manner and within budget

  • Manages a team of marketers in support of the nephrology franchise

  • Provides valuable marketing insight into pipeline assets

  • Nephrology experience required

  • Minimum of 10+ years of relevant marketing experience within the pharmaceutical/biotech space with proven launch experience

  • Rare disease preferred

  • Demonstrated success in leadership competencies, creative problem solving, and collaboration

  • Strong strategic agility and analytical skills. Able to identify key growth opportunities.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team; provides guidance and direction and motivates team to excel

  • Flexible style – able to manage in a startup environment and adjusts quickly
