Director, Commercial Operations and Effectiveness
Location: Boston, MA
Director of Commercial Operations and Effectiveness who will support the CCO in oversight of the planning and design of all strategic and operational activities of the Commercial Operations department.
Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), the Director of Commercial Operations & Effectiveness will be responsible for commercial operations functions inclusive of, HCP Events, Commercial Monitoring, Marketing Operations, Meetings and Conventions for the Commercial functions and in the development of customer facing model for multiple product launches. The position will lead a team of 1 to 2 staff that provides operational support for Commercial and other functions within the organization.
In addition, the Director of Commercial Operations will lead and evolve the Commercial Operations department with responsibility for establishing and maintaining the necessary operational infrastructure for supporting a US commercial footprint.
What you’ll dive into
Support the development of the overall strategy and direction for the department
Partner with business functions to ensure alignment with Commercial and brand strategy
Devise, initiate and implement strategies to increase operational efficiency
Develop and maintain an appropriate organizational structure that supports the needs of the business across multiple sites (US and Europe)
Oversee the approach and implementation of objective analysis to support best in class sales operations programs including sales force strategy and analysis, targeting, optimal territory alignment and sales force incentive plans
Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources
Develop, track, and control the annual operating and capital budgets
Act as a trusted partner to multiple business teams across multiple sites
Advise, counsel and educate on the competitive or financial impact of current trends or issues
Promote and oversee strategic relationships between internal resources and external entities, including data partners, vendors, and service organizations.
Act as an advocate for Arena’s vision via regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s department heads, and end users
Partner with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations
Must be capable of working autonomously and as a team player; Must possess the ability to interact and interface with all levels of management and with global teams
What we expect
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred
10 years of industry experience leading sales teams or internal teams
Experience in sales force strategy and optimization projects
Experience negotiating through change and ambiguity
Experience selecting and overseeing external vendors and outsourced partnerships
Understanding of human resource management principles, practices and procedures; Track record of hiring and developing high quality team members
Experience developing and implementing/executing commercial plans
Proven experience in Sales Leadership and Management
